How much money you make depends on how many lessons are booked with you. As a start-up, it’s difficult to determine what parent demand will be. As demand develops, how much you can earn will depend in part on how many hours a week you’re willing to work.

For now, to keep things simple, we’re using a standard rate of $25 per hour, with higher fees for longer lessons or lessons involving more than one child. Soon we’ll enable mentors to set their own rates.

MentorBuddies retains a 20% fee for each lesson booked through the platform, to cover our technology, marketing, administrative and other costs. So the mentor receives $20 per one-hour lesson. MentorBuddies will send checks to mentors at least once per month with their earnings for the previous month.
